For those playing with the U13s at Cirencester please wear normal yellow match kit.

Brinkworth 5 - 0 Wasps

A tough match today against the 2nd place team from last year. We created some good chances, but let them in too often on goal. We took some knocks today - the game is getting more physical as we move through the age groups.

We will not win matches by being stronger or more aggressive than the other team - we need to be cleverer and play more intelligent football - we are capable of this but need to be confident on the ball and work as a team.

Training Monday at St Jo's

Due to the poor light, we will be training at St Jo's from this Monday 20th Sept.

Pitch is booked from 7 - 8 pm - but we will always aim to be there warming up from 6.45pm (please check someone is there before dropping off if you're a bit early).

Sunday 19/9

Sunday 19/9 - we are away vs Brinkworth Cats at Ballards Ash, just outside Wootton Bassett (see map)

Kick off is 2.30pm - please meet PerAxel at 2pm.

We are missing Will A, Will W and Ewan (I hope I haven't forgotten anyone) - this leaves us with just 12 players, so hopefully everyone else can make it!

Reminder for Sunday 12/9

Sunday match is confirmed at home against Highworth. Meet at Rec at
9:30am for 10am kickoff. We are missing Arthur and Will A so hope that
everyone else is available and fit.

Avonvale 1 - 0 Wasps

It was great to see everyone working hard and playing competitively for our first match of the season. The lesson from their only goal was to ensure the back 4 are consistent in keeping their line - otherwise it is easy for the opposition to slip through.

We were unlucky that Tom's equalising goal was ruled out for offside.

Captain's MoM (chosen by Tom) - Benjamin for his defensive work and chasing back
Coaches MoM - Will A for excellent recovery work in defence in the first half and strong midfield work in the second.

Special mention to Jonny for his great performance in goal, Samuel solid in defence (covering for an injured Nick) and Arthur for covering so much ground on a large pitch.

Training on Monday as usual at the Rec. Training will be at St Jo's from 4 October.

As in previous years we'd appreciate £2 from everyone to ensure a supply of match biscuits. Please pass to me or Helen.

Match on Sunday is confirmed - we are away at Avondale (Tetbury), meet at 1.30 for 2pm kick off (all players except Johan/Ewan, who are away).
