Wasps 1 - 6 Avonvale

Positive things today: most of the first half

We played well in the first half. We made chances, worked hard in defence and tried to play passing football. The main lesson is to play to the whistle - don't stop if it looks like a foul or handball - let the ref decide.

Negative things today: most of the second half

The half time team talk didn't work today. The 10 players of Avonvale worked much harder than us. We allowed them to pass the ball too easily, in particular through to the centre forward who scored a hat-full of identical goals. Too often Wanborough players stood watching  as Avonvale sped past them to score. We rarely controlled the ball first time and gave the ball away too easily. Overall, very disappointing.

We did make a few chances and well done to Miles for snatching a goal following Johan's cross in. Special mention to Sam who had a good game trying to distribute the ball from midfield.

MoM - Harry for working hard from defence on the right wing.

Training tomorrow as usual.

Next match is away v Brinkworth Cats at Ballards Ash Wootton Bassett. Afternoon kick-off - meet at 1.30 for 2pm.
